The original case comes with it but its in pretty rough condition. I was able to get one pickup to work but I am sure it will need electrical repair and possibly other repair therefore I am selling it as-is. The strap peg at the end of the body is broken off. There are some areas where the paint has chipped and the metal parts are corroded. This would be a great project! CONDITION: It is in fair to good condition. There is a handwritten number 0724 on the nut. more body cutaway body and 2 pickups with tone and volume.

Happy to provide additional pictures and you can bet I'll answer all questions in a timely manner. Unanimous 5/5 seller ratings, and my dedicated passion for rare vintage guitars. You can trust my 15-year selling history on eBay. Local pickup is great but California buyers are subject to sales tax. Shipping is a $59 flat rate via Fedex to the lower 48 states(fully insured) Alaska and Hawaii will be a $119 flat rate. It will be expertly packed and shipped in its case inside a double-walled guitar box. Original case works perfect but is cosmetically a little rough. Usually these gold guitars are in far rougher shape but overall this is a great example! It weighs only 7 lbs 15 ounces. It is all original except it's missing its pickguard(you can have an identical one made at Pickguardian if you really want one) and it had different tuners at one time(see photos) There are no repairs and no damage to speak of except for some minor finish checking/flaking of the gold finish by the volume controls. The neck is an extremely comfortable C-shape and the original frets are in incredible shape- see photo. And the built-in transformer in this guitar acts like a passive boost, so you don't really feel like these pickups are less powerful than humbuckers. more really missing out! They sound very PAF-like.a lot of natural sag along with chime and clarity. Models to look out for: Just about anything prooduced before 1970, including (but by no means limited to.) Explorer, Les Paul, SG, ES-335, Flying V, Firebird, Melody Maker. This guitar really surprised me.I had never tried low impedance pickups before acquiring this'74 Les Paul Signature and let me just say wow. Later Nashville-produced instruments are the least desireable vintage Gibsons, but as long as the Gibson name is present, it will still be a quality guitar. This is not to say all of their guitars are equal however, and the price difference between two vintage Les Paul guitars could be tens, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. Gibson's golden period was between the late 1950s and mid 1960s, these are outstanding instruments, but generally any guitar built at the legendary Kalamazoo plant, especially during the CMI-period (pre-1970) will be very well-made indeed. Vintage Guitar magazine placed nine Gibson guitars in their 'top 25 most valuable guitar' list. From their simplest entry-level solid bodies to the inordinately expensive custom-built jazz guitars, all of Gibson's output has been created in America, yet loved world-wide. Gibson guitars have always been desireable a true testament to the skill of the guitar builders at perhaps the worlds best-regarded guitar company.
